Ganguly supports a cause

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to support a cause.

The southpaw will support a cause when he inaugurates an exhibition cricket match between intellectualy-challenged players of Bangladesh and India at Eden Gardens on November 4.

Organised by the West Bengal State Council of Sports, the exhibition match will be of 20x2 format where each player gets an opportunity to bat and ball and the final score is derived by dividing the total by the number of times the batting side lost wickets, state sports minister Kanti Ganguly stated in a release on Saturday.

"The special format has been designed to permit each player to show his ability. Besides Ganguly, former speaker Somnath Chatterjee and other eminent sport and entertainment personalities will attend the event," it added.

The event is being organised in collaboration with Special Olympica and Paschimbanga Rajya Pratibandhi Sammilani and supported by the Cricket Association of Bengal.
