Zaheer Khan starts bowling in MI camp

Indian pace spearhead Zaheer Khan started bowling at the nets on the first day of the conditioning-cum-cricket camp of the Mumbai Indians.
Having recovered from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the Champions Trophy, the speedster has started training for the Indian Premier League franchise outfit at the Reliance (IPCL) Stadium in Vadodara.

"Zaheer Khan has started bowling at the camp here for Mumbai Indians and he was bowling from a full run-up," said a spokesperson for the Reliance Industries-owned franchise team from Vadodara.

Left-arm pacer Khan has been nursing a shoulder injury.

On July 13, he underwent an arthroscopic labral repair in his left shoulder, done by Dr Mark Ferguson in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The pace spearhead is currently undergoing rehabilitation and was expected to return to international cricket only by the end of this year.

Zaheer had reached Vadodara earlier today with team owner Nita Ambani to take part in the short camp that was shifted from Mumbai because of inclement weather in Mumbai.

Team skipper and icon player Sachin Tendulkar is expected to join the camp tomorrow, according to the spokesperson.
